  2. Where Would I Be Without You?

    June 29, 2009
    by Adrian Wilson

Driven by a bit too much sake and the nostalgic melancholy that followed, I spent the evening listening to Soft Cell singles. Driven by even more sake I decided to scan all the covers. It’s the first time I’ve seen the front & backs simultaneously so although I managed to listen to all of Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret, Non-Stop Ecstatic Dancing and side 1 of The Art Of Falling Apart before I was done, it was worth the effort.

The 80’s weren’t all bad you know. When I was a boy this was the man I wanted to be.

  3. givenchy show & aftershow party

the models, and the models looking at themselves on a screen at the after party. I love these types of mises en abîme

(do I really need to add that the show was amazing?)

  4. fantastic woman

I met Madame Michèle Lamy at the Rick Owens headquarter on a ridiculously hot day. Models were running in and out of the place as the show was 28 hours ahead and the casting was taking place on that same day. In this chaos, there still seemed to exist a few cube meters of peace and reason located in the little backyard/terrace of the HQ. We discussed about the time when she got her fingers tattooed, the same time back when tattooing hands was still illegal in certain american states. We also chatted about publishing during recession times and the quest of Substance. Then I left, inspired and serene.

I’ve been helping to organize an exhibition of work by 11 young photographers that will take place on 8th July at Spring Studios in London and over the next few days I’ll be posting some of the work most relevant to this page. It’s a guest list only event but if you’re keen to come please email me – aw@sangbleu.com

The beautiful flyer is by the one and only Maxime Buechi with photography by Ekaterina Bazhenova.are-you-the-one
