My friend Hector de la Vallée brought this link to my attention, even though it was not initially intended exclusively to me.
In 1911, Giuseppe de Liguoro directed L’inferno, an adaptation of Dante’s Divine Comedy. It is considered as the first full-length Italian movie ever made.
This particular scene shows the face to face between Dante, Virgil and Satan, whose they will have to climb the body to escape from Hell.
