    Jeremiah Brandreth, was a 19th Century stocking maker and accused Luddite; someone who served as a rebel during the introduction of advanced technology that allowed such traditional trades to be taken over by less skilled people.

    He was  said to be the last person to be Hanged Drawn And Quartered;  the infamous public torture which featured the systematic torture in which one would be hanged, disemboweled (while alive or dead) and eventually have their body divided into sections, which would each be sent to the farthest reaches of the country, in many cases being dispalyed publicly as a demonstration of what could happen to those that lived outside of the law…
