I made paul vickery’s acquaintance at the london tattoo convention. THe mutual ownership of a Yashica T5 camera made it easy to start a conversation. He later sent me a CD full of the beautiful images he and his T5 had been producing. Here is the first one.

I am constantly amazed by the strength and coherence of FUZI’s work. From hardcore graffiti writing (UV stands for UltraViolent. Those who know about graffiti know it’s not just a nickname.) to tattooing, FUZI is fully self taught and now takes his outsider art to his entourage’s skin.

FUZI doesn’t do things because they’re fancy, he does things because it can’t be any other way.

From colorful property violation to symbolic body damage, the only thing I see is one of the purest form of poetry: poetry with no boundaries, no rules. No laws.

The blog speaks for itself. Also browse old pages. The texts are amazing as well… for the french speaking (Check the post “Youngblood” for a personal insight on what being UV means and others where a piece on a train is captioned “peinture à la bombe sur train express regional, 2003″, a tag “craie sur tôle 2004″, a tattoo “encre sur peau de rouquin”, etc.)

liam sparkes is not only a reputed drummer, he also is the owner of one of the nicest tattoo collection I know, and, cherry on top, a promising tattoo artist himself!
