girls that fuckin rule No2—Valerie Vargas
OK, Here I go again. Arnd Seibert was recently asking me about female tattoo artist, and I had to answer that the profession was still (unfortunately) generally male-dominated. What I forgot to mention to him though is that there fortunately are girls coming up with such a potential that this situation might very well change in the not-so-remote-future. You’ve already discovered Rachi, here is the young Valerie of Frith Street tattoo (see interview in the last issue of SB).Also see her web page.

bad brains
Usually, I don’t blog portfolios as such. But when I discovered Rachi Brains’ work in Tattoo Artist Magazine, and then had a look at her myspace page, I was really blown away. Especially because I had never heard of her before! (Perhaps due to her location: Brisbane, Australia) But something tells me that we’re gonna hear a lot more about her in the future!

bestiary
Sandrine P regularly sends newsletters proposing her services. Usually, these types of mails end up in the trash box or spams before their content could reach any of my braincells. But this time, it was something else. I gave in and replied.

jeffrey kilmer—1
I have never actually met Jeffrey Kilmer. Still he is important to me and Sang Bleu as he was among the very first people to ever give me a chance with the project. I published a series of his pictures of young tattooed american boys and since then have been regularly receiving updates of this ever-growing series. Thank you Jeffrey.
Here are some of them.
