  2. Vermin in Ermine

In Paris photographing couture collections. I love photographing couture. Apart from the fact that sometimes you have 10 minutes with one look or you sit and wait 2 hours for another, it’s my favourite job of the season. One dress was seriously delayed because a princess was in the room it was hanging and she didn’t want to be disturbed. This time at Studio Rouchon with super talented Elise Ducrot & Pierre Francois Carrasco at Ann Ramirez & Michelle Westgeest at Viva and of course Charlie Harrington but she doesn’t need promoting. But best of all is my hotel lobby. How they can afford all this decor when the rooms are only 60€ a night. Mattresses fit for royalty.

  6. Zana Bayne

Taking advantage of our presence in New York City, we attended to our friend Zana’s presentation at the Standard’s Le Bain. It was the perfect time of the day to overlook Manhattan in the dimming late afternoon light. Zana delighted us with her harnesses, from thinner woven textures to bolder armor-like structures.

  7. MAUNSELL SEA FORTS

    June 26, 2011
    by Jeanne-Salome Rochat

During the Second World War, three anti-aircraft forts were built to protect the Thames Estuary, designed by Mr. G. A. Maunsell. Four other larger structures were built for the Navy.
The Army forts were different in design from the Navy platforms as each had seven towers linked together by walkways. Six of the towers were armed, the seventh held the searchlights and they were manned by a complement of 120. They were built in 1942 at Shivering Sands, Red Sands and Great Nore. Each 300 tonne tower was preconstructed before being towed out to sea, sunk into position and then connected to the next tower.
After the war, the forts were abandoned and Great Nore was demolished in 1958. Red Sand Fort which is off the coast at Whitstable was used in the 1960′s as a pirate radio station… Three other forts of similar design were built in the Mersey to protect Liverpool.
