at the gallery
Ready for a massive post?
This weekend was so full of beautiful pieces, the gallery once turned into an unlikely Ali-Baba cave…
Most of these pieces are by Dan Sinnes (to whom Sang Bleu owes a really nice weekend!)
Will add the exact credits later (but most of them by Dan Sinnes).
In the back you can see the drawings by Henry Deletra Hanna and/or the paintings by Elisabeth Llach…

sang bleu at colophon—preview
Not much time to be blogging! The gallery space is beautiful, and we are very happy with the layout! We are here showing, among others, works by Elisabeth Llach, Duane PItre, Jeanne-Salomé Rochat and HENRY DELETRA HANNA. Alongside, we have Dan Sinnes tattooing here as well. The whole thing is really impressive. Happy
More to come.

Magazine: random thoughts
It is a very subtle mix of elements that makes one appreciate a particular magazine. Some of these elements are exchangeable, or exclusive, but here is what comes to mind (randomly):
Size
Materiality (binding, stock, wrapping, etc.)
Pagination
Printing
Price
Title
Frequency of publishing
Content:
—editorial structure
—theme
—photography (quality, style, content, titling)
—writing (quality, style, content, titling)
—advertising (quantity, type of advertiser, aesthetic quality of)and then, some more subtle relations between these aspects:
Writing vs photography proportion
Design
Consistency between issues
Ability to renew itself over time

blue blood bath—updated
(apparently, there was a problem with the zip file, so i updated it, this time it should work…)
Everybody—when they were kids—once receive one of those books you can look at (read?) and listen to at the same time. When I was a kid it used to be vinyl records or tapes. Now it probably is CDs or MP3 audiobooks…
Here is something to read Sang Bleu to.

Laura Kenner

Dropped my digital camera which means it’s not great for detail but regardless here’s Laura Kenner from Florida (&Profile London) and her girl jump roping with her shadow from Dali’s Alice in Wonderland watercolour series and the Sheep in a Box from The Little Prince. Very cool.
