Travelin’ Mick is a photographer and journalist, who has been relentlessly roaming the world in search of the last remaining tattoo cultures of this planet to record and thus conserve them for posterity.

It is his distinctive goal to promote the understanding of the importance of tattooing to the history and culture of mankind and as a veritable form of art.

Tattoos have been an integral part of the shaping of identities of societies and individuals throughout our history over thousands of years as well as a possibility to express our individuality and creativity.

Thorough research is meant to find out more about the relation of mankind and its societies with body art.

By visiting and documenting the last remaining traditional tattooing practices on all continents, he tries to preserve those cultures and show them to the world in images that express the beauty and pride of ethnic groups and traditional communities, who still bear the marks of their people.

At the start of this interview Ryan Gosling leaves his seat to look behind a door. Because he thought he saw a cat, he finds out that it is actually the foot of a PR. On his realisation he responds by saying that “As long as that cat has a body we’re all right.”

Gosling is currently perceived as one of the most exciting actors around. Catherine Shoard asks him about his character in his film Drive, while he is stoned. Both him and director Nicholas Reft both took equal love and consideration into the film. He personally made the car he drives in the film and has a home made tattoo of a monsters hand on his lower arm. On one hand Gosling appears to be a stoned fame stricken young actor trying to represent three films he is staring in at once. On the other hand, a down to earth craftsman with a sensitive but macho persona who doesn’t actually seem that interested in film at all.
Ryan has also just been crowned Time magazines coolest person of 2011!

With the relaunch of his new website you will not be let down. Koh has created an artwork within an artwork for his new website, welcoming you into his world. Where his work is known for his d-i-y sensibilities and zine aesthetic, this feeling smoothly runs throughout.

With an area to personally ask Koh questions, a shop, a diary, a blog of his work as well as his CV. Perhaps the most satisfying aspect is the random and unexpected intercepts of midi music accompanied in his scrapbook cum blog. This set up serves the contemporary internet user in a most fulfilling way.

J’ai testé seul, ça m’a plu.

I am rarely touched or moved by tattooers.
