Damir Doma’s Silent space (NYC)

Damir Doma calls his diffusion line “SILENT“, referring to the quiet, timeless place that the designer retreats to whenever starting a collection. For Spring 2012 he brings a slice of that tranquil aesthetic to New York city, with a pop-up store on Howard Street in Soho.
Echoing the season’s print (inspired by African bodypainting) the façade of the street-level store has been hand-painted with monochrome stripes, and the interior decorated with life-size b&w posters by the French photographed Sybille Walter.
Check it out at 22D Howard Street NYC from this week until early May.

Fashion Weeks by Maxime Ballesteros
Considering that Fashion Week pretty much looks the same everywhere we haven’t described the whereabouts of each photograph taken by Maxime. Although he did take these in Paris, Copenhagen and Berlin.

Patrik Ervell A/W 2012
Tim Blanks has cleverly analysed Patrik Ervell’s latest New York Fashion week collection for Style.com. With an authoritarian influence Ervell described the collection in his own words as the ‘moments of protest that emerge through the cracks and edges of a heavily policed state’. Creating his collection around concepts of the uniform Blanks likens the clothing to ‘those of urban commandos’ and ‘a Blade Runner -ish combo of tech and retro’.
